I'm a lot healthier than I was a month ago!
I have been given permission to complete the final 2 units of a degree that I was doing when Dad got sick. I had to drop out of it when I couldn't complete in time. This is really important to me as I originally was completing this same degree with a different university 14 years ago when my mum got sick. She was ill for a few months before she passed away and I missed the last 2 units deadline. That university would not allow me to finish the 2 units I needed to graduate.
I hate leaving things unfinished and I hate being told I can't do something so about 4 years ago I started the degree again (no credits allowed for the previous work) with another university. I am SO determined to graduate this time! This is the absolute best news of the month!! I expect to have it finished by January 2009.
Hubby's business is growing slow but steady and income is covering expenses so far. I am negotiating with my employer for use of a work car which would save me $80 a week in petrol expenses, but after the recent job debacle I will believe it when I see it.
The Bad

The Bad
I have to make another tax payment this month which is half my monthly income. Beans and rice for the month! Hubby's job seeking efforts have had no positive results and we can't afford to take any income from his business.
The Ugly
The job I have been preparing for has been put off until July. It would have increased my income by 40%. My workload is ridiculously unmanageable as a result of thier decision, I refuse to do higher duties without the income, so work is very stressful at the minute.
Goals for April;
Keep our heads above water!!

Hang in there! Treading water is better than drowning!
I agree with Kacie. Hang in there.
Did you see the 4 corners programme last night called 'Debtland'. It was quite an eye opener!
I hope things get better for you in April ...
Great news on being able to finish last 2 units on your degree.
Great news on being healthier.
Having a stressful work situation is very difficult I hope you get a break and some assistance.
hi kacie, trich & busywoman :) I think we will get there, it is just a hard slog at the moment until July when we get tax back, I didn't see 4 corners but I will have a look online for the show.
You are making great progress, and you inspire us! Thanks
